The Trustees of SAGS are delighted to announce that the revisions to the constitution proposed to members have been overwhelmingly approved.
The Covid Pandemic preventing any prospect of physical meetings of members this year and probably beyond, the trustees of SAGS took the opportunity offered by time-limited legislation to ballot all members by email on revisions to the constitution. Significant among the proposed revisions were the creation of an annual national ballot of members, giving each member to vote on all items that would traditionally have come before an AGM. Now, all members, regardless of their ability to attend a meeting in person, will have an equal say in the running of the Society.
By an overwhelming majority of 82.5%, members voted to approve the proposed revisions to the constitution. SAGS trustees will now confirm the vote with OSCR. The first step in the new arrangements, is to call for members to nominate individuals to be offered to members for election as a SAGS trustee. Emails have gone out to all members inviting nominations.
