Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Scottish Minister for the Environment, chaired the morning session and gave a supportive keynote speech. The other morning speakers gave inspiring accounts of how gardening in general, and allotments in particular, could be used to increase mental and physical health and social welfare in communities.
Sarah Boyack MSP opened and chaired the afternoon session which was divided between reports of allotment activities around the country and small group workshops. The one problem here was a shortage of time. Unfortunately as the workshops were the last item on the program they had to be much shorter than many participants would have liked.
